Harmony Kingdom Penguins & Polar Bear Marble Resin (3" Tall)
"Murphy's Last Stand" - #TJPB
SIZE: 3 inches high x 2.25 inches wide
Here is a Harmony Kingdom Treasure Jest called "Murphy's Last Stand", which features a large polar bear lying on top of Murphy the Penguin. Two other penguins are trying to move the bear, while a small penguin is napping on the bear's back. The small penguin serves conveniently as a handle to open the box. Mad Murphy the Penguin is a frequent character in the Harmony Kingdom menagerie and he does tend to get into trouble. This Treasure Jest is in perfect condition, from the inventory of a closed store, and it will come in the original Harmony Kingdom green box with brochure and place card.
In this box figurine, Murphy is in danger of being eaten by the bear. Inside of the box, there are four bottles of beer, along with the body of Murphy. Carved by artist Peter Calvesbert, this humorous box figurine has lots to offer. This Version One was released in June 1997 and was retired a few months later. An announcement was made in the collector club bulletin that a complaint had been made by the SPCA, and therefore HK decided to retire "Murphy's Last Stand" and break the moulds. Harmony Kingdom boxes are hand crafted, using marble resin, from original carvings. Then each is hand painted and tinted for a one-of-a-kind figurine. The boxes are hand painted by citizens of the rural English countryside of the South Cotswolds. There are differences in colorations on each piece.
